- The quilts provide security, warmth and love to our local young children in need. Blankets will be distributed by the RI Chapter to children in crisis and in need of a “blanket hug” as is said at Project Linus.
Bookmarks will be distributed with donated books, collected in the Usher’s Closet in the foyer of St. Luke’s Church.
On Wednesday, April 5th, we filled backpacks with essential items, toiletries & rosaries for our local homeless Veterans. Backpacks were distributed through the Outreach Ministry at St. Luke’s Church by ‘We Share Hope’ in Warren, RI. The organization’s mission is to “share what we have been given with those who are in need” – such as food, and non-food items to the homeless, working poor, underprivileged, underemployed and children living in poverty. More information can be found on their website, www.wesharehope.org
We will also made 13 Easter cards for the Carmelite Sisters at the Discalced Carmelite Monastery in Barrington. The aspects of the Carmelite life are “…contained in an atmosphere of contemplative prayer, solitude, silence and community…with a mission to pray for the church and the world”. A religious article gift shop, enrollment for prayer requests, Mass and quarters for silent retreats are offered at the monastery. For more information, go to www.barringtoncarmel.com
With thanks & wishes to you All for a blessed Easter,
