In 2009, the PTO appointed an Enrichment Committee to identify programs, products and services that will enhance and supplement the school curriculum and to make recommendations to the PTO Board for the funding of these activities. The Enrichment Committee is made up of faculty members and parents. Mrs. Bartel attends these meetings in an advisory capacity.
The Enrichment Committee serves as an advisory body to the PTO Board. The Enrichment Committee makes recommendations regarding which enrichment activities to fund and the amount of funding to provide. The recommendations must be approved by a majority of the Enrichment Committee before submitting the request to the full PTO Board.
In making decisions regarding enrichment activities, the committee must adhere to the following criteria:
- The enrichment activity shall be consistent with the School’s mission statement (Encourage and challenge students to achieve academically, grow spiritually, and use their gifts to serve effectively as Christian leaders).
- Priority shall be given to enrichment activities that expand upon and complement the current school curriculum.
- Priority shall be given to those enrichment activities that reach a wide segment of the student body. If enrichment activities during the course of the school year are designated for specific grades, the Committee will try to recommend for that same school year other enrichment activities that benefit the remaining grades.
