For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Sandwich Club - 8 years running!
Sandwich Club is an after school service club that works with the Mobile Loaves and Fishes (MLF) Ministry of St. Luke’s Church. Sandwich Club is open to all students in Grades 1-8. Our mission is to give the students a chance to actively participate in feeding the hungry and see that their involvement makes a difference.
We (usually) meet on the first Friday of every month before the MLF weekend run and make 200 bagged lunches for distribution to the homeless and hungry in parks, shelters and neighborhoods of South Providence, Central Falls, Pawtucket and Woonsocket.
Sandwich Club is supported by a stipend from the PTO and the private donations of families who offer the cost of a Sandwich Club meeting in memory of a loved one. This can be a beautiful way to honor the memory of a friend or family member and help 200 hungry people.
Other facts about Sandwich Club include:
- Students sign up via email. We must limit each club meeting to 12 students.
- One service hour is available for middle school students
- Dismissal is at 4pm from the school gym.
- More information about Mobile Loaves & Fishes can be found on their website http://mlf.org
We will send an e-blast ahead of time for sign ups. If you are interested in participating or donating, please contact the Sandwich Club Co-Chairs: Cynthia Osmanski (email@example.com
) or Christina Frias-DiSanto (firstname.lastname@example.org
