Education - M Ed. In Early Childhood Education, Rhode Island College; BA in English, Elementary and Secondary Education, State University of New York Potsdam; Rhode Island Certification Preschool to grade 12.
Eileen Dennis came to St. Luke’s Preschool in the fall of 1997 as the Lead Teacher. Though a native of Webster, New York, Eileen moved to Rhode Island after graduating from college and has made Barrington her home ever since. Passionate about education, Eileen has a wide array of teaching experiences in public and private schools, community camps, and settings with students of all ages. She has presented at educator conferences of NAEYC and DOP, belonged to the RI Reggio Study Group for many years, and worked on a variety of school committees since 1980. Eileen is an officer of Hameho Garden Club and has served as a Girl Scout leader and mentor for over 40 years. Eileen co-wrote the DOP Curriculum for Early Childhood Mathematics and wrote the Preschool portion for the DOP Science (STREAM) Curriculum. She is a member of the SLS Advisory Board and the STREAMing at SL's Planning Team. Favorite activities include travel, nature studies, reading, anything creative, all of the arts, and most especially spending time with her husband, Paul, their 3 grown children and spouses, and their two young grandchildren.

Wendy has been teaching at the Preschool since 1998 and was the AM CAMP Coordinator for the 2012-2013 school year. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and its RI Affiliate. Wendy and her husband, Hugh, reside in Barrington where they raised their three children; Brian, Sara and Jeffrey. Motherhood and volunteering at her children’s Pre-K and elementary schools prompted Wendy to switch careers and become an early childhood teacher. Having moved multiple times as a child, Wendy is passionate about creating a classroom environment that is safe and nurturing so that each child’s first school experience is a positive one. Wendy attends St. Luke’s Church where she has been a Eucharistic Minister, member of the adult choir and more recently a volunteer for Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Her interests include spending time with her family, walking, traveling, following the Yankees and summering on Nantucket.
