STREAMing at St. Luke’s
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
St. Luke’s continues to work on their initiative- STREAMing at St. Luke’s. A STREAM approach is integrating Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math. This is an interdisciplinary methodology that provides for the exploration of concepts across disciplines and allows students to see how subjects are related rather than teaching skills in isolation. We believe in actively engaging our students in learning that is meaningful, hands-on, and relevant.
Our teachers are working on professional development with Roger Williams University/School of Continuing Education and the Diocese of Providence Catholic School Office STEAM Academy Initiative in order to be recognized as a STEAM certified school. Our goal is to integrate STEAM into our mission, curriculum, programs, instruction, planning and community engagement. We have added the “R’’ to STEAM in order to integrate Religion as well.
