Our Commitment During the Challenge of COVID-19
Saint Luke’s School is moving forward with our reopening plans for August. We look to a bright future with changes that assure the Saint Luke’s School Community that we are ready to start strong, and stay focused on the most important part of our mission: our students.
With an average class size of 15 students, we are able to offer safe classroom settings and procedures, individual attention, and small group work to compliment whole class activities.
This reopening plan is based on regulations, recommendations, and guidance set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health, the Rhode Island Department of Education, the American Academy of Pediatrics and Catholic Mutual Insurance Company. In addition to the REOPENING RI document, the plan has been created using the combined input of the Faculty and Staff, including the nurses, and Parents of Saint Luke’s School.
The plan addresses all aspects of our operational procedures that, to the best of our ability, assure the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff.
The plan is presented with the understanding that while we want our children back in school, the procedures we are planning are first and foremost to ensure that we meet regulations, recommendations, and guidelines to protect all our students, faculty, and staff. The school day will not be the same as it was before we closed in March. However, it does put our children back, as safely as possible, in the environment that has the greatest impact on their spiritual, academic, emotional, and social well-being. We all have to make adjustments as we work within these new guidelines. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this reopening process.
